Jack’s Liverpool FC First
The commitment of one of AFG’s support workers has meant that Jack, one of the people we support, saw his first ever Liverpool football match at Anfield last Saturday.
Knowsley and Sephton Team Leader Sophie Oakes-Keating explained: “Our amazing support worker Chris Hayes moved mountains to get the Liverpool tickets for Jack. He then came in on his day off to support Jack at the game.”
Chris said: “Jack has always loved Liverpool FC but hasn’t been able to get to a match. I arranged for a couple of tickets for the family but he wanted me to take him.
“A few months ago, the family couldn’t get Jack out of the house as he struggles with autism and ADHD. But over the last few months our support has made a real difference – encouraging him to play snooker and pool and to go for runs around Sefton Park. He is coming along great.”
Jack’s Mum was delighted too: “Chris made Jack’s day. He loved it. He’s always wanted to go to a Liverpool game.”
A fantastic experience was rounded off by a winning result for Liverpool, beating Arsenal 3-1, and putting them at the top of the Premier league.
