AFG team help kick cancer into touch

An AFG team and family members from the Wirral have raised nearly £2000 for Cancer Research UK after completing the Race for Life at the weekend.

Team Leader Laura Webster said: “We decided to take part after one of our team was diagnosed with cancer and it’s something that affects so many people in so many ways and is very close to the heart of our work family.

“We were a mixture of team leaders and support staff and we had the backing of some of the people we support who met us at the finish line which was brilliant.”

“We wanted to show cancer who is boss and kick it where it hurts by raising awareness and funds for research to finally eradicate this awful disease.

Team Leader Danielle Owens added: “Cancer affects most of us in our lifetimes and it is a subject close to the hearts of our team. If you would like to sponsor us that would be amazing.”

The other team members were: Janine Lidford, Jason Lidford, Dawn Smith, Sarah Jones and her daughter Emily, Craig Evason and his daughter Cynthia, Lauren Pugh and her daughter Sienna, Lee Wardle and his daughter Katie, Rebecca Winstanley and Sue Whittle.
