Contract win for Alternative Futures Group
Alternative Futures Group (AFG) has recently been awarded a new contract for the delivery of a range of services across Rochdale. AFG will provide housing related and floating support direct to people’s homes to provide personal care for people who have a learning disability or mental disorder.
Alternative Futures Group Regional Director Kathy Farmer said: “We’re delighted to grow our business with Rochdale Metropolitan Council and to continue to provide high quality services to the local people. The real beneficiaries of these contracts will be the people with support needs across the Rochdale, who are would like to live as independently as possible.”
AFG is currently rated as “Good” in all areas by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) who found that the service was well led, safe, caring and responsive. CQC said people’s personal preferences were considered in the planning and delivery of their care and AFG staff were respectful and understood the importance of promoting people’s privacy and dignity. People who used the service said they received the care and support they needed and were encouraged and supported to take part in activities of their choice.
The scheme will be operated by a team of 15 staff who have been recruited locally, to ensure that our service users are supported by people who know the area intimately and can truly connect people into their local communities. AFG always look to develop volunteering opportunities and befriending schemes for the people we support and work closely with community groups, commissioners, churches, housing associations, micro enterprises to ensure the people we support are active citizens in their community.
