Charity football match needs your support

The Stalybridge Celtic AFG ability team is celebrating its first anniversary with new-look shirts and a major fund-raising game against Honeywell FC.

Alternative Futures Group  Team Leader Andrea Doherty said: “The football team is for people who have a learning disability but we don’t like to use the word “disability” – we prefer abilities. We’re looking for donations to raffle and for a tombola stall. Anything will be appreciated. All proceeds will be ploughed back into the football teams and the Foundation.”

The charity game will be held at the Staybridge Celtic AFG football ground on 30 March The gates open at 1.30pm, kick off 3pm. A small charge will be made on the gate. Everyone is welcome.

Stalybridge Celtic AFG trains twice a week. They are a learning disability team, with a proactive approach to getting players to do much as they can and to the best of their ability.
