AFG Staff Raise The Bar With Exam Success
Alternative Futures Group is proud to announce that 20 of our Merseyside staff have achieved level 5 Health and Social Care Apprenticeships with Paragon Skills.
Their QCF Level 5 gives them a diploma in leadership for health and social care and childrens’ and young peoples’ services – and is the equivalent of a foundation degree. All but one of the AFG achievers are AFG team leaders.
Team Leader Dave Wheeler said: “It’s taken us all about a year to complete the qualification with most of the work being done in our own time. We’ve supported each other throughout it and it’s brought us all together.”
“For me personally, it will give me confidence in my role and demonstrates that I’m serious about a career in health and social care. This isn’t just a day job. Ultimately, doing this means that we can do more to build the quality of peoples’ lives – the people we support.”
This achievement demonstrates AFG’s values and how important they are to our people – in this case always raising the bar.
Dave added: “Our trainer from Paragon Sara Atkins was absolutely fabulous. She gave us all lots of moral support. It can be difficult with a day job but she didn’t allow any of us to give up. Our success demonstrates that there are development opportunities with AFG.”
Head of Quality and Operations (Merseyside) Tilly Simmons said: “I am extremely proud of my Merseyside Team Leaders and Integrated Pathway Coordinators who contacted Paragon Skills and sourced a fully funded QCF Level 5 in the Management & Leadership Skills programme. Congratulations and well done.”
