AFG Awards Showcase ‘Fabulous Work’

Alternative Future Group’s Cheshire and Wirral teams held their glittering awards ceremony at the Village Hotel in Warrington. The awards included Team of the Year, Support Worker of the Year, Leader of the Year and Best Newcomer.

Regional Director Carol Toner explained: “Last summer the Cheshire and Wirral regional events project team discussed the concept of an awards event. We were hoping to re–engage with our people, showcase our fabulous work and celebrate our refreshed vision, mission and values.”

Out of this grew the Cheshire and Wirral annual awards event which turned into one of the biggest engagement events they had ever organised. Nine awards were opened to nominations.

“We watched the feel-good stories come in. One of the proudest moments was being on the panel agreeing the winners who were judged against our values. The night was fabulous, everyone turned up looking and feeling great. The venue was beautiful and our awards went down with laughter, reflection and the odd tear of happiness.”

An inspirational talk by Debbie Murray, Carol Naylor, Emma Cox and Chelsea Holdgate was a powerful reminder of the outstanding success for the people supported in Warrington. This was a very proud moment.

Carol added: “Our awards are now part of our history, to look back on with pride and a strong motivator to support us as we go forward to our exciting Alternative Future.”

The other awards included for Team of the Year,  Rising Star, Outstanding Achievement,  Health Professional and Innovation.

The awards project team was also singled out for praise by Carol: “Lots of hard work has gone into making sure this is a success. Our project team of Andrew Morris, Andrew Hargreaves, Karen Fitzsimon, Diane Stanley, Stephen Critchley Jenny Van Heerden and Sarah Cole have worked wonders to deliver an event to make us feel proud.”
